Zakat Fund, Awqaf Ministry to build residential units for underprivileged families

AMMAN — The Zakat Fund, in cooperation with the Awqaf Ministry, has developed a programme to build residential units for underprivileged families, Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh, who is also chairman of the Zakat Fund, announced on Thursday.
The minister’s remarks were made during a charitable forum held in Northern Shouneh in the Jordan Valley, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the event, the minister handed the director of the Northern Shouneh Awqaf department cash and material assistance, made for vulnerable families, orphans and university students, at a total cost of about JD40,000.
