Programme developed to build residences for underprivileged families

AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh on Sunday revealed that the ministry, in cooperation with the Zakat Fund, developed a programme for building homes for underprivileged families, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Funded by the Zakat Fund, the construction of a number of housing units has begun in different regions of the Kingdom. This initiative came during Khalaileh’s participation in the Preaching and Guidance Forum, the Medical Day and Charity Day in Sama Al Sarhan area.
Khalaileh also announced distributing 300 vouchers to underprivileged families as well as granting financial assistance to 50 university students and 50 orphans at a rate of JD100 for each, 300 food parcels, and JD10,000 in the form of parcels through charities in the area. The ministry seeks to attend to the needs of people in various parts of the country, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah.
