‘Contemporary Zakat Issues’ launches in cooperation with Kuwait

AMMAN — The 26th “Contemporary Zakat Issues” Symposium, organised by Kuwait’s Zakat House in cooperation with the Jordanian Zakat Fund, kicked off in Amman on Wednesday.
Deputising for Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal reviewed the ministry’s initiatives carried out through the Zakat Fund to support underprivileged families, students and orphans.
Director General of Kuwait’s Zakat House Mohammad Falah Otaib said that Kuwait’s Zakat House annually holds such seminars and invites specialised scholars to discuss contemporary aakat issues and fatwas (religious edicts), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
