‘APU conference opportunity for joint parliamentary action on priority issues’

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Wednesday called on coordinating the parliamentary stances to support Arab priority issues, chief among which is the Palestinian cause.
During his meeting with Lebanese Ambassador to Jordan Tracy Chamoun, Tarawneh said that the upcoming Amman-hosted Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) session scheduled for March 3 comprises an important opportunity for joint Arab parliamentary support action.
Chamoun stressed the importance of furthering the two countries relations, expressing her best wishes for the 29th APU conference, the Jordan News Agency Petra, reported.
She also valued the Kingdom’s efforts towards regional issues, including the Palestinian cause, the refugee crisis and countering terrorism.
