Police arrest suspect ‘in possession of $3m counterfeit currency, firearm’

AMMAN — Preventive Security Department (PSD) personnel have arrested a man in Amman, found in possession of $3 million in counterfeit currency, a gun and equipment used in counterfeiting currency, PSD Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said on Tuesday.
Sartawi said that PSD personnel on Monday night raided the house of the suspect in Hashimi Shamali. The suspect and another person in the house were arrested.
Upon searching the residence, security agents found the forged money, chemical materials, printers and computers used in counterfeiting currency, as well as a gun, ammunition and narcotics, Sartawi said.
