Attempt to sell counterfeit currency foiled, 2 arrested

AMMAN — Police have arrested two individuals in Jerash found in possession of JD250,000 in counterfeit currency. The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) spokesperson said that police personnel received a tip-off that an individual was showing counterfeit currency for sale in Jerash, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The investigation led to the identification of two suspects, he noted, adding that the home of a suspect was raided. Upon searching the residence, security agents found the fake currency, printers and tools used to counterfeit currency, he added.
