AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have foiled an attempt to scam a Jordanian by paying him a bad cheque of $3 million to buy a plot of land in Marj Al Hamam that he had offered for sale, a Public Security Department (PSD) statement said Sunday.
The CID received information about the sale, tracked it and arrested two suspects wanted for theft and scam crimes, and found the cheque with them.
Moreover, the CID issued an all-points bulletin on the third suspect, who was reportedly the mediator in the sale and is also wanted for several crimes.
The PSD urged the public to follow legal measures when buying or selling real estate.
