957 suspected drug dealers arrested in February — PSD

AMMAN — The Public Security Directorate (PSD) media spokesperson on Monday revealed that in February the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) dealt with 533 cases of smuggling and promoting narcotic substances, in which 957 suspected drug dealers were arrested, including those classified as “dangerous”, and referred them to the State Security Court’s Public Prosecution.
Among the cases, 241,353kg of hashish, 1,553,997 Captagon pills, 46,563 narcotic pills, 2,536kg of crystal meth, 947kg of industrial marijuana, 873kg of industrial marijuana powder, an unspecified amount of marijuana seedlings and a number of firearms were seized.
AND also launched 559 educational campaigns, consisting of a number of courses, lectures, workshops and seminars in partnership with academic and media institutions as well as the concerned partners, the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson affirmed that the anti-narcotics operations and campaigns are continuing in all regions of the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
