Two AND raids lead to three arrests, seizure of drugs

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Wednesday conducted two raids in south Amman, leading to the arrest of three drug dealers and the seizure of large amounts of drugs and a firearm, the department spokesperson said on Thursday.
During the first raid, AND personnel arrested two suspected drug dealers in possession of 191 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 40,000 narcotic pills, a quantity of marijuana and a firearm, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A suspect classified as “dangerous” and wanted on 24 charges was also arrested during the other raid, the source said, adding that personnel found three kilogrammes of hashish and 5,000 narcotic pills in his possession.
