AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department’s (AND) agents have arrested three suspected drug dealers and seized the illicit drugs in their possession over the last few days.
The Public Security Directorate’s (PSD) spokesperson on Monday said that in the first case, AND personnel followed up on reports made about an individual growing marijuana on his farm in Mafraq, while his three sons promoted the substance in Mafraq and Zarqa governorates, according to a PSD statement.
After raiding the farm, the father and his three sons were arrested, the spokesperson said, adding that after searching the farm, AND found 500 plastic bags containing marijuana in addition to 300 marijuana plants and a firearm.
In the second case, a house was raided in Madaba as its owner used part of it for growing marijuana, the spokesperson said, noting that after searching the house, 100 marijuana plants were found in addition to 500gm of dried marijuana prepared to be sold.
A raid on an Amman apartment led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer who used the apartment to promote illicit drugs, the spokesperson said, adding that the search of the apartment yielded 1,000 narcotic pills, an amount of crystal meth and a firearm.
