YWC seizes assets over unpaid water bills

IRBID — Yarmouk Water Company (YWC) seized movable and immovable assets of 2, 204 subscribers with JD 700.000 unpaid dues, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The company said the names of subscribers, who failed to pay the water bills and who did not settle their financial issues during the legal period of 60 days, were published in the Official Gazette.
YWC Director General Hassan Hazaimeh stressed that citizens whose funds were seized should check with the company and pay 50 per cent of the amount due, and sign a cheque or a written pledge to transfer an agreed-upon fixed amount of the remaining 50 per cent.
YWC, which manages water and wastewater services in the northern governorates of Jerash, Irbid, Ajloun and Mafraq, has started a “strict campaign” against subscribers who have unpaid water bills.
