IRBID — The Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO) on Thursday restored the power supply to Yarmouk Water Company (YWC) offices in Irbid that serve the whole northern region.

IDECO offered a one-week grace period to YWC to pay its JD20 million electricity bill after cutting off power supply on Wednesday.

The cut affected various services offered to the public.

IDECO Director General Ahmad Theinat said Irbid Governor Hassan Assaf intervened to restore the power supply.

The YWC, which has an annual energy bill of JD18 million and pays JD14 million in salaries every year, called on the government to assist it financially.
