Water theft detected in Ruseifa

AMMAN — Employees at the Water Ministry and the Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) have detected illegal fixtures on water mains in Ruseifa, which included a 5cm diameter pipeline to illegally supply 70 houses with water, and other accessories siphoning water to eight houses.
In a ministry statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Thursday, the ministry said that its personnel detected the illegal fixtures during inspection campaigns earlier in the day after the Ruseifa water director received information about the violations.
The ministry added that its employees detected other illegal fixtures supplying water to 10 houses, in addition to five cases of tampering with water gauges. The statement noted that all cases were referred to relevant institutions for further action.
