AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel have concluded their investigation into the robbery of the Jabal Amman Antiquities Office, apprehending suspects and retrieving all the stolen items, the Public Security Department (PSD) said Saturday.
On June 11, the office reported the incident to the CID, which included the theft of valuable archaeological items, according to a PSD statement. CID agents identified and detained the prime suspect in the case, who confessed to committing the crime, said the PSD, adding that security agents searched his residence and found some of the stolen items.
Another man was arrested later and found in possession of the rest of the items, which he said he bought from the main suspect, according to the PSD. The retrieved items were sent back to the antiquities office and the suspects were referred to court.
