TRC complaints drop 23% in Q1 of 2023

AMMAN — A total of 2,200 complaints related to telecommunications and postal services were lodged during the first quarter of 2023, of which 2002 were addressed and settled with a processing rate of 91 per cent, according to the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC).
Chairman of the TRC Board of Commissioners Bassam Fadel Al Sarhan stressed the TRC’s important role in protecting the interests of telecommunication, information technology and postal service customers.
In a statement, Sarhan said that the rate of complaints during the first quarter of this year was 23 per cent less than the corresponding period of last year.
The TRC chief noted that work is underway to address complaints with the aid of TRC technical teams who conduct the necessary technical examinations for coverage complaints and coordinate with the relevant companies through field visits.
Sarhan said that in the same period, 1,737 complaints related to Internet services were filed, while 431 complaints related to mobile phone services were lodged.
Nineteen complaints related to fixed telephone service were recorded, and 13 complaints related to postal services were filed, the official said.
The TRC is constantly implementing awareness campaigns to address issues facing customers through the authority’s social media platforms, he added.
