TRC contributes JD92 million to State Treasury

AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) transferred a total of JD92 million to the State Treasury in 2023. According to indicators published by the TRC on its performance in the telecommunications and postal sectors for the same year, 27,664 customs declarations were processed at the commission's external offices, with 20,898 declarations at airport customs, 5,004 in Aqaba and 1,762 in Amman. A total of 8,267 complaints were received by the TRC, with a processing rate of 94.7 per cent, covering Internet services, mobile services, landline services and postal services. Jordan was ranked 39th in the world and fourth in the Arab world for fixed internet speed, with an average of 110 megabits per second by the end of 2023, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. In terms of 5G service deployment, Jordan ranked seventh in the MENA region.
