Sahab cardboard factory fire extinguished; none injured

AMMAN — Civil Defence Department (CDD) personnel on Wednesday extinguished a fire that erupted at a cardboard factory which included three hangars, paper machines and raw materials in King Abdullah II Industrial City in Sahab, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
CDD’s media office said that dozens of the CDD operational machines and several cadres participated in distinguishing the fire under the direct supervision of CDD Director Maj. Gen. Mustafa Bazaiah, with no recorded injuries or deaths.
The statement added that the active participation of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the Public Security Department, the Gendarmerie, the Greater Amman Municipality and the National Electricity Power Company had a major role in controlling the blaze and preventing its spread to neighbouring factories. A committee has been formed to investigate the causes of the fire, Petra added.
