Royal Decree approves special pardon for those convicted of lèse-majesté

AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Sunday, approving a special pardon for those convicted in cases related to lèse-majesté.
The pardon includes 155 convicts, according to a Royal Court statement.
In October, His Majesty King Abdullah directed the government to look into all cases related to lèse-majesté, which violate Article 195 of the Penal Code and in which final rulings have been issued, in order to grant a special pardon to those convicted in such cases.
