PM highlights importance of lèse-majesté pardons

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, during a Cabinet session on Sunday, highlighted the importance of implementing His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to the government to grant a special pardon to those convicted in cases related to lèse-majesté as soon as possible, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

King Abdullah on Saturday directed the government to look into all cases related to lèse-majesté, which violate Article 195 of the Penal Code and in which final rulings have been issued.
