Jordan has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the people of Gaza, serving not only as a lifeline to its people, but also as a beacon of hope that the Kingdom will always remain steadfast in its support to Gazans in the midst of the most severe humanitarian crises.
Upon Royal directives, the military evacuated on Monday critically ill Gazan toddler Habibat Allah to Jordan in a decisive operation, led by senior military officials and a comprehensive medical team, reinforcing Jordan’s long-standing tradition of extending a lifeline to the vulnerable.
Heartbreaking footage of the two-year old has circulated on the news, showing the toddler fighting a for life with her mother by her side, unable to ease her pain, while doctors in Gaza stand powerless in the face of her suffering due to the destruction of the healthcare system in Gaza following Israel’s relentless bombardment of the strip over the past fourteen months.
The transfer of young Habibat Allah is not just another medical evacuation, but rather an enduring symbol of Jordan’s steadfast solidarity with its brothers and sisters in Gaza. Habibat Allah was transported by helicopter to Al-Hussein Medical City/Queen Rania Children’s Hospital. There, a specialised team stood ready to receive her and start managing her complex condition by promptly providing her with the critical treatment she urgently needs.
Moreover, in response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Royal Jordanian Air Force has initiated an air bridge to deliver essential aid to Gaza. This operation aims to provide urgent medical supplies and ensures the delivery of critical relief supplies to inaccessible areas.
Such operations among many others reflect Jordan’s broader philosophy, where humanitarian assistance and political action go hand in hand. By prioritizing both immediate relief and diplomatic efforts, Jordan demonstrates a commitment that goes beyond rhetoric, actively working to alleviate suffering in Gaza while advocating for lasting peace.
The Kingdom’s efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, centres on the critical need to establish and maintain a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
King Abdullah highlighted on different occasions the importance of intensifying international humanitarian efforts for Gaza, stressing that the global community must work together to increase the aid directed to the most affected areas of the strip.
International partners should heed King Abdullah’s call to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza and forge cooperative efforts across borders. Emulating Jordan’s integrated model that combines proactive diplomacy with continuous relief measures can strengthen the impact of global aid initiatives and ensure that vulnerable people of Gaza receive critical support without delay.
In the end, by ensuring that children like Habiba are given a chance at life through immediate, life-saving intervention, Jordan showed another example of profound solidarity, and reaffirmed the long-standing belief that in moments of crisis, humanity must always come first.
