Princess Ghida honoured for supporting cancer patients

AMMAN — HRH Princess Ghida Talal, chairperson of the board of trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, on Sunday received the "Special Distinction" award during TAKREEM's seventh Award Ceremony held in Cairo on Saturday, according to a TAKREEM statement.
Princess Ghida received the award in appreciation of her efforts in combating cancer in the Arab world. During the ceremony, Princess Ghida thanked the TAKREEM initiative for celebrating Arab innovators and their achievements, noting that the award is an acknowledgement of cancer patients everywhere.
Ricardo Karam, talk-show host and founder of the awards, said that TAKREEM is honoured to award Princess Ghida, commending her efforts to alleviate the suffering of cancer patients.
TAKREEM, launched in 2010, identifies and honours Arabs who have excelled in their field and inspired others in their quest for cultural, educational, scientific, environmental, humanitarian, social and economic excellence, according to its website.
