Princess Ghida honours winners of anti-smoking media competition

AMMAN — HRH Princess Ghida, the chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) board of trustees, on Thursday honoured the winners of the second anti-smoking media competition and institutions that gained “smoke-free zone” certificates.
At a ceremony attended by HH Princess Dina, director general of the KHCF, Princess Ghida thanked all who contributed to raising awareness of the dangers of smoking.
“We are proud of all who participated with our initiatives to combat smoking,” she said, adding that despite some progress, more efforts are needed to reduce the prevalence of smoking in Jordan.
Al Ghad daily won the award for best investigative report, while Ad Dustour won for best news story and best column.
Jordan Television and Al Balad Radio won the awards for best TV and radio reports respectively.
