AMMAN — The Cyber Crimes Unit on Sunday warned that it will take action against those who attempt to “utilise” a recent incident in which a woman and her daughter were allegedly beaten in Wasfi Al Tal Street, also known as the Garden Street, to stoke inter-communal strife.
A Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said that the unit has intensified monitoring and will take firm action against agitators, the Jordan News Agency Petra, reported.
The case has been referred to the court and the main suspect is in custody at a correctional and rehabilitation centre.
The PSD spokesperson urged the public to desist from publishing or republishing any materials related to the incident as the case is before the court.
