Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Italian ambassador talk ties, region

AMMAN — The Chairman of Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Khaldoon Hayna, emphasised the significance of Italy's support for Jordan's efforts towards achieving a comprehensive and just peace for the Palestinian issue, as well as the country’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. 

During the meeting with Italian Ambassador to Jordan Luciano Pezzotti, Hayna emphasised the need to strengthen relations between the Foreign Affairs Committees of both parliaments and commended the depth of ties between the two countries in various domains, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. 

Pezzotti expressed his country's support for Jordan's efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace in region, as well as the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. 

Pezzotti also showed interest in promoting religious tourism to Jordan from Italy. At the end of the meeting, the head of the committee presented a commemorative shield to the Italian diplomat in appreciation of his efforts.
