AMMAN — The army-affiliated National Company for Training and Employment (NCTE), and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti presided over the signing ceremony that was held at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The memo aims at meeting the demands of the Jordanian labour market, in accordance with the national strategy for human resources development, to help in raising awareness among young people about the importance of vocational work by holding workshops and seminars to introduce them to the importance of expanding their knowledge base and training them for work.

The agreement supports the establishment of the Aqaba Vocational Training Complex, which will be built on an area of 6,000 sq.m. NCTE was established upon Royal directives in 2007 as a nonprofit private shareholding company owned by JAF, meant to reduce the unemployment rate among young Jordanians.
