Film commission, ASEZA to further cooperate in film industry

AMMAN — The Royal Film Commission (RFC) and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement to organise specialised workshops on film industry at the RFC’s affiliated centres in Aqaba and Wadi Rum.

Under the agreement, which was signed in the presence of HRH Princess Rym Al Ali, member of the RFC’s board of commissioners, young people will be trained in cinematography and film-making. In the recent years, Jordan has been a location hub for film-makers, who seem to like its geographical diversity and security.

This has contributed to creating a number of jobs in Jordan and affected tourism positively, according to officials, tour guides, residents and cinema industry workers interviewed recently by The Jordan Times.
