AMMAN — The Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans on Sunday expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), for the makruma (Royal benefaction) for immediately implementing a pay raise for military retirees who retired before 2010.
The association, represented by its director Retired Maj. Gen. Ahmad Ajarmeh, in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that the makruma, aimed at bettering the military retirees’ living conditions amid the difficult economic conditions, shows King Abdullah’s appreciation of service by military retirees.
