LTRC begins distribution of public transport subsidy cards

AMMAN — The Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) on Thursday started disbursing the first batch of public transport subsidies.
LTRC spokesperson Abla Washah said that the first batch includes 10,126 fuel subsidy cards which include the name and number of the vehicle owner and the monetary value of the subsidy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The commission will support main and sub-transport lines, including 776 buses, 3,475 medium-sized vehicles and 1,021 white service cabs at a rate of JD567,150 per month, to total some JD3.4 million over six months. The support to yellow taxis, which amount to 5,354 vehicles, will reach JD267,700 per month, to total approximately JD1.6 million over six months.
