First batch of public transport subsidies to be disbursed this week — LTRC

AMMAN — The Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) announced the disbursement of the first batch of public transport subsidies this week, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
LTRC spokesperson Abla Washah said that the first batch includes 10,126 fuel subsidy cards, which will be disbursed by the end of the week.
She noted that the cards include the name and number of the vehicle owner and the monetary value of the subsidy.
Transport subsidies will be distributed over a six-month period in two instalments of about JD5 million, intended to ameliorate the effects of high fuel prices.
The commission will support main transport methods including 776 buses, 3,475 medium-sized vehicles and 1,021 smaller-sized buses at a rate of JD567,150 per month, with a total of some JD3.4 million over six months.
The support to yellow taxis, amounting to 5,354 vehicles, will reach JD267,700 per month, to total approximately JD1.6 million over six months.
