King discusses military ties with Pakistan army chief

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif, who is currently visiting the Kingdom, and discussed military cooperation, a Royal Court statement said. HRH Prince Feisal and King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben attended the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace.
Also on Tuesday, Zaben and Sharif attended a military drill preformed by a joint special operations unit.
The drill included using several types of firearms, and conducting raids on buildings with the support of helicopters and sniper coverage, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Sharif commended personnel’s professional skills.
