Pakistan army chief arrives in Jordan

AMMAN — Gen. Raheel Sharif, chief of staff of the Pakistan army, arrived in the Kingdom on Sunday on an official four-day visit, during which he is scheduled to meet His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
King’s Adviser for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben received Sharif upon his arrival at the Marka Military Airport, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Pakistani army chief’s visit to Jordan is aimed at promoting bilateral ties and military cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Pakistani embassy in Amman. Sharif is also scheduled to meet with HRH Prince Feisal, Zaben’s special assistant, and Zaben, the statement added.
