AMMAN — The Jordanian Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products (JPACO) on Monday signed an agreement with several intermediary companies of different nationalities to export 500 tonnes of Hungarian pepper with a value of $1 million.

Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat, who attended the signing of the agreement, said that the JPACO seeks to communicate with farmers to sign the agreements to secure the required amount, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He pointed out that the company is working according to a plan to access new markets, adding that it is negotiating with companies in the Netherlands and the UK to export Barhi and Medjool dates, strawberries, as well as other crops.

The minister stressed the company's keenness to fulfill the agreements that would put Jordan and Palestine on the marketing map of agricultural products.
