Jordanian-Irish Business Association discusses investment opportunities

AMMAN — Investment Minister Khairy Amr called on the Irish private sector to benefit from the economic and investment opportunities available in Jordan.
During a meeting organised by the Jordanian-Irish Business Association, Amr said that the Kingdom is considered “a gateway” to access most of the region’s markets due to its “distinguished” geographic location, in addition to several free trade agreements signed which enabled Jordanian products to access more than 1.5 billion consumers.
In the presence of Ireland's Ambassador to Jordan Vincent O'Neill, government officials and several Jordanian and Irish businesspeople, Amr said that the ministry encourages Irish investments in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also voiced the ministry’s readiness to help Irish companies and acquaint them with the Jordanian market and provide them with the necessary economic data, noting that there are “promising and competitive investment opportunities” in the Jordanian market in several fields, such as ICT, industry, health, agriculture and services.
The minister also stressed the importance of exchanging visits between members of the private sectors in the countries to contribute to developing the economic and investment ties and increasing Jordanian exports to the Irish and European markets.
Discussions during the meeting went over means to enhance commercial and economic relations between the sides and acquaint business owners with the most important sectors and investment incentives.
