AMMAN — The Ireland-Jordan Economic and Investment Relations Team Conference kicked off on Monday.
Organised by the Irish Embassy in Amman, the event aims to strengthen cooperation between businesspeople in the two countries, with over 100 representatives from various investment sectors participating in the conference.
Minister of Investment Khloud Al Saqqaf highlighted the ministry's efforts to work with public and private sector partners in Jordan to provide investment opportunities in an attractive, stimulating and safe investment environment that capitalises on Jordan's distinct advantages, such as stable business climate, and robust legal framework.
Saqqaf praised the role of the Irish Embassy in strengthening the investment landscape in Jordan, particularly through the launch of the Doing Business Guide, which highlights investment opportunities for Irish companies in Jordan.
She reiterated the ministry's commitment to implementing the principles of the economic modernisation vision, ensuring an attractive investment environment and addressing the needs of investors.
The ministry has implemented several initiatives to strengthen the investment sector, including the launch of the invest.jo platform, which features 30 different investment opportunities with a total value of $1.4 billion in various sectors, she added.
Irish Ambassador to Jordan Marianne Bolger emphasised that the conference underscores the commitment of both countries to strengthen economic ties and explore new avenues of cooperation.
She also highlighted the positive momentum resulting from previous activities such as the launch of the Doing Business Guide, the Arab-Irish Business Forum and events organised by the Jordanian-Irish Business Association.
The envoy also mentioned the preparation of an agenda for 2024 and beyond, which will serve the interests of both countries.
