AMMAN — The National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) on Sunday commended Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour’s decision this week to form a committee to follow up on its report.
Mousa Burayzat, NCHR’s chief commissioner, said the “quick” decision reveals a positive tendency that can be seen as an official commitment to build a national platform for human rights.
On Sunday, Ensour issued a communiqué to ministries and government commissions, urging them to provide the government coordinator for human rights with a copy of their responses to the NCHR report by September 20.
