House speaker meets with press syndicate delegation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday said that the House and the press are partners and allies rather than adversaries.
The remarks came during a meeting on Monday with President of the Jordan Press Association Tareq Momani and members of the syndicate’s council during which several issues related to the profession were discussed.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the press, Tarawneh called on media outlets to be objective and transparent in their coverage of news.
For his part, Momani stressed the importance of cooperation between the House and the press.
