Gov’t signs deal with NDI to boost human rights

AMMAN — The government and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement to boost human rights and the country’s drive towards political reform.
The government’s human rights coordinator, Basel Tarawneh, and NDI Country Director in Jordan Arianit Shehu signed the agreement, in the presence of Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni. Under the deal, the two sides will cooperate in safeguarding and boosting human rights and basic freedoms.
