Four suspects detained in armed robbery

AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel detained four suspects involved in a theft of JD108,500 from an accountant at a trade company in northern Amman, the Public Security Department said Thursday.

The accountant was driving his car in Tabarbour on July 26 when he was attacked by four people in another car who hit him, stole the company’s money he was carrying and fled.

CID investigators tracked down the four suspects and arrested them, one of whom works at the same company, while a search is still under way for a fifth accomplice.

CID personnel managed to retrieve JD37,000 and seized a weapon used in the robbery.
