Two arrested in connection with ATM robbery

AMMAN — Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel on Sunday arrested two suspects on the charge of stealing JD37,000 from an ATM in Jerash, 48km north of Amman.

Security personnel arrested the suspects in possession of a large amount of stolen cash, the Public Security Department (PSD) spokesperson said, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The spokesperson added that investigators suspected an employee at a company that works with the bank, as the main culprit who obtained the PIN of the ATM.

The suspect confessed to committing the robbery with the aid of another man who was also arrested, the PSD official said, noting that investigations were ongoing.
