First rehabilitation services department for persons with disabilities opened at Qweismeh Health Centre

AMMAN — In the presence of HRH Prince Mired, President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Health Minister Feras Al Hawari on Sunday inaugurated the first department to provide rehabilitation and treatment services for persons with disabilities at the Qweismeh Comprehensive Health Centre.
The prince said that the centre’s opening is an important step to achieve integration and improve the level of rehabilitation services provided to persons with disabilities in health centres.
Hawari announced the start of physiotherapy and occupational therapy services at the centre today.
He noted that the establishment of the department comes as a first step to implement the memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry of Health and the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the "My Child" campaign to create 12 comprehensive health centres to provide these services in all governorates of the Kingdom.
The ministry is implementing this project in line with the Public Health Law and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law, the minister said.
He referred to the ministry's endeavor to provide rehabilitation and treatment sessions for persons with disabilities in all comprehensive health centres in the Kingdom.
Praising the efforts exerted by the council and the campaign in serving people with disabilities in Jordan society, he also lauded the Disability Foundation for its contributions to helping the centre provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services.
