AMMAN —Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have confiscated “a large number” of narcotic pills in Al Qweirah, near Aqaba, after tracking a “suspicious vehicle”, according to a Public Security Department (PSD) statement released Sunday.
The PSD said that one of the AND’s patrol teams in Aqaba tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off with others in the vehicle, throwing two bags out of the vehicle that contained 200,000 narcotic pills. However, the AND personnel did not arrest the suspects and a search for them is ongoing.
