Wildfire put out in Irbid’s Koura District

AMMAN — West Irbid Fire Department personnel, supported by forest personnel from the Koura District, on Saturday, put out a wildfire in the Kafr Awan area of the district.

The fire burned about 10 dunums of forest trees and dry grass in the area, Assistant Director of Koura Agriculture Department Firas Bani Issa told the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The rapid response of the Civil Defence Department and forest personnel prevented the fire from spreading further, he said. The official urged the public to cooperate with the concerned authorities by following preventive measures to reduce wildfires.
