Irbid Civil Defence personnel put out fire in Jefeen

AMMAN — Irbid Civil Defence personnel on Saturday extinguished a fire that broke out in the Jefeen region, west of Koura district, affecting about 1,000 dunums of forest and agricultural land.
Koura district administrator, Baker Kaabneh, said that the fire had affected a large area of land estimated at 1,000 dunums, including 100 dunums planted with forest trees, while the others with olive and pomegranates, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He added that an in-depth analysis of damage incurred by farmers will be conducted in cooperation with the Koura agriculture department, adding that an investigation was launched to determine the source and cause of the fire.
