Water Ministry seals five illegal wells in Southern Shouneh

AMMAN — The Water Ministry, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, on Tuesday sealed five illegal wells that supplied thousands of cubic metres of underground water daily to farms in Rama in the Southern Shouneh region.
The ministry said that they were used to withdraw non-potable water for illegal sales via tankers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry added that its personnel removed all illegal fixtures and referred the case to competent authorities. The ministry also commended citizens' efforts for reporting such incidents.
