Water Ministry progresses with refugee host community water project

AMMAN — The Water Ministry has concluded the study, design and tender phases of a project that aims to stabilise the situation in refugee host communities by promoting participatory management and renovating and implementing networks.  

The Water Ministry, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), held several workshops with community members in the implementation areas of Balqa, Maan and Irbid to discuss the stages of the project and to engage the local community in the executive process as the project's main partner and beneficiaries, according to a ministry statement. 

The workshops sought to raise awareness about water issues and introduce the project's challenges, the stages of study, design, implementation and the supporting role of the community.
