AMMAN — Water Minister Motasem Saidan on Tuesday highlighted the importance of financing entrepreneurial projects related to household rainwater harvesting.
During a meeting with UNDP Resident Representative Sara Ferrer Olivella, Saidan noted that reusing water through utilising modern technologies and applications enjoys easy maintenance and operation in addition to being environment friendly, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister said that olive mill wastewater is one of the most dangerous pollution sources of ground and surface water, calling for implementing strict programmes to monitor the transport of this item to specialised landfills.
Olivella pointed out that UNDP has several projects to support decision making, develop databases and enhance risk management programmes, stressing that unifying these efforts will render these plans a success.
