Warmer weather forecast following cold, rainy weekend

AMMAN — A cold front affected the Kingdom over the weekend and brought cold weather and rainfall, as temperatures fell seven to eight degrees below their annual average, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

On Sunday, temperatures are forecast to slightly increase, bringing moderate weather around the Kingdom and warm weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with north-westerly moderate winds, according to the department.

Another slight increase in temperatures is forecast for Monday and Tuesday, bringing warmer weather with north-easterly to north-westerly moderate to brisk winds on Monday and easterly moderate to brisk winds on Tuesday.

In Amman, mercury levels on Sunday will see a high of 17°C during the day and a low of 8°C at night. On Monday, temperatures are expected to range between a high of 20°C and a low of 10°C, while on Tuesday, temperatures are forecast rise to 23°C during the day and drop to 12°C at night, according to the JMD.

In Aqaba, temperatures will reach a high of 29°C during the day and a low of 16°C during the night on Sunday, and on Monday temperatures will range between 31°C and 19°C. On Tuesday, temperatures are forecast to range between 33°C and 21°C, according to the weather department.
