‘Two suspects caught selling fake mosaics’

AMMAN — Balqa Preventive Security Department personnel have arrested two suspects who were reportedly attempting to sell fake mosaics, according to a Public Security Department (PSD) statement released Saturday.
The two suspects offered to sell the pieces for JD360,000 to a citizen but they were arrested and the mosaics were given to the Department of Antiquities which affirmed they were fake, containing a few valuable pieces used to deceive the victims.
In another case, the PSD said Zarqa Preventive Security Department personnel arrested a suspect for illegal arms trade. The suspect was in possession of five pistols and live ammunition, and was referred to court after questioning.
