Turkish agency expresses interest in assisting Jordan

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday received Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) President Mehmet Yildirim.
The Turkish official briefed the premier on the agency’s activities and programmes to support development in many countries. Yildirim expressed TIKA’s readiness to provide assistance to the Kingdom in the fields of technical support and training, noting that the agency is interested in implementing educational, health, water and cultural projects in Jordan, in addition to supporting small- and medium-sized projects.
Ensour expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the technical aid Turkey presents to the Kingdom, noting that opening a TIKA office in Jordan would guarantee that projects presented to the Kingdom be under official supervision.
