AMMAN — The Central Traffic Department (CTD) has received 100 breathalysers to be distributed in the department’s patrols, highways’ patrols and traffic accident investigators, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
The delivery of the devices that test alcohol levels in drivers’ blood, was carried out in cooperation with PepsiCo-Jordan to limit dangerous accidents, Petra reported, adding that the ceremony was attended by CTD Director Brig. Gen. Sameer Bino and PepsiCo General Manager Nidal Hamam.
Bino said that using the devices will be a deterrent for all drivers tempted to drive under the influence of alcohol, and will enable traffic police officers to detect drunk drivers quickly and easily.
